History of our Campus
Nestled in a sumptuous valley near Lugano, Switzerland on the Swiss-Italian border sits a 234 year old estate home called Gioia del Cigno. Translated to "Swan's Joy" or "the joy of the swan" the estate gets its name for the multiple serene ponds that dot the outer property that are home to mated pairs of white swans in the Spring and Summer seasons. The estate is known regionally for the façade laced with ballet slipper pink Alpine Roses that spectators would come from miles around to catch of glimpse of during open house days and stay through the evening drinking glühwein by the fireside to see the pairs of swans around Gioia del Cigno's grounds take flight and cross over the powder white moon.
Town near our Campus
Our campus is located in a small town outside of Lugano. The main street has a number of boutiques, fresh grocers, farm stands, flower stands, and all of the amenities you would need for an easy, high quality lifestyle without worry. Our favorite boutique "Baigner L'âme" stocks Alo, Lululemon, the latest finds from Goop, and wellness goodies from all around the world. Our girls receive a generous discount.
Details of the Grounds
The Rosewood Institute grounds are blessed with beautiful ponds, gorgeous foliage, and rows and rows of cherry trees that blossom every Sprint and perfume our sun kissed acres. Our grounds contain a prayer chapel, topiary and foliage landscaping for evening walks & tea ceremonies, a full service wellness spa, tennis courts, a 10 hole golf green, horse stables, 19 miles of walking or riding trails, and hundreds of wild and domesticated animals who call our grounds their home.
Student Boarding Rooms
Our students can select from dual tenant rooms and bunk with a friend, or choose private suites. Regardless of solo or double tenant status, our finely appointed form rooms feature toiletries are by Jo Malone and bed linens by Christian Fischbacher.
Meals & Dining
Featuring a casual tea room and formal dining room, the grounds have ample opportunity for socialization and forming bonds with fellow students. The original kitchen on the property features capabilities to cater a formal state dinner for 100, and cozy enough to cater an informal high tea for a handful of students on a whim.
Library
Our stately library includes copies of Mischaela's series of self-help books as well as multiple different works by Carl Jung. Our shelves boast a healthy collection of volumes on topics like gnosticism, astrology, major world religions, Biblical philosophy, esoteric wisdom, and world history. Biographies of famous women and men who have lived their life's true calling make up 30% of the library and serve as an inspiration to our students.
Bookstore
Our bookstore is a one stop shop for purchasing your own signed copy of Mischaela's books, official school apparel, notebooks and stationary, and more. You can also shop the signature Rosewood Institute collabs with partner brands like Dior, La Perla, and Lululemon.
RW Spa
Part of the Rosewater Luxury Groupe division, the RW Spa is (at present) an exclusive to Rosewood Institute. Students can take in massages, facials, and nail care and maintenance procedures with spiritual and energetic wellness enhancements...all in reach of our world famous fresh Swiss mountain air.
